Australian Construction Supplies Articles, Hint and Tips

Below are some articles that you may find helpful when looking for solutions for your residential or commercial project.

Why Acrylic?

Acrylic is a naturally lustrous non-staining, non-fading, non-porous product that is easy to clean, warm to the touch, lightweight, yet amply strong, and lends itself to affordable creative designing. Cleaned according to manufacturer directions, the surface will retain its showroom finish indefinitely.

Acrylic tubs boast a beautiful high gloss finish and because the colour goes all the way through, they are more resistant to abrasion and fading.

Acrylic is a good insulator, so water stays warm longer.

Scratches can be easily removed through a simple process of sanding the area with inexpensive fine wet and dry sandpaper. The high gloss can be quickly restored by light buffing with the heel of your hand and toothpaste or baking soda if you don't have rubbing compound or a buffer. Acrylic is chemically inert, immune to almost every chemical, and requires only a mild liquid, non-abrasive cleaner to keep it looking like new.

We have the following bath tubs that use Acrylic: Free Standing Series, Concealed Series, Claw Foot Bath Series

Why Stone?

Cast stone is made of non-porous materials which prevent the growth of mould, mildew or bacteria. Due to its non-porous nature it is highly resistant to liquid penetration and staining. Further to this, cast stone will outperform most materials in resistance to scratching and abrasion along with heat retention.

The formation of cast stone shows its versatility. It can be cut, routed, drilled, sculpted, bent and worked like a fine wood. The ability of cast stone to be thermoformed allows it to flow with both traditional and non-traditional designs.

Colors can be run through the entire thickness of the material and can not wear away. Cast stone is a solid material which cannot be delaminated.

While nicks, stains, cuts and scratches can permanently mar most other surfaces, they will not compromise the appearance of cast stone solid surfaces. It is because it is easy to restore cast stone to its original appearance by using an ordinary abrasive cleanser plus a common household degreaser. Besides, if damage does occur, cast stone can be repaired on site, saving both down time
and aggravation.

Cast stone is used in our Stone Bath, bath tubs and in our wash basin range, our Stone Series uses Cast Stone.
